Getting to know us

Welcome to Loral Rottweiler’s web site. Here you will find background information and what’s new about Loral Rottweiler’s. Lorretta and Allen Pyeatt could not image their lives without dogs. We rescued 2 Doberman’s soon after we were married in 1976. When our Doberman’s passed due to failing health we found the Rottweiler breed and feel in love with the Rottweiler.

Our first Rottweiler was a pet female named Kodiak Sheba Bear. Kodiak was a great family companion and we started basic obedience training with her. Kodiak received her CD (obedience title; Companion Dog) and we were bitten by the dog show bug! Lorretta did lots of research about the Rottweiler including reading books, studying The Rottweiler pictorials and Rottweiler magazines. The day I saw the new Champion picture of a male Rottweiler named Grant I knew I found what I was looking for. I contacted Grant’s owner and she gave me the name of a breeder who was expecting a litter out of Grant.

Debbie Whelan in Houston, Texas she bred her female Honey (Ch. Tobant’s Honey Bun) to Grant.  Honey had 10 healthy beautiful puppies. We wanted a female in which we were 3rd pick out of 4 girls in the litter. Our mentor Mr. Bill Lee told us know what type of Rottweiler you like and stay true to the breed.  Bill’s simple advice helped us to know exactly what we were looking for. I attribute all our success picking and breeding puppies to Bill’s advice.

We named our show girl Belaire (Ch.Von Whelan’s Belaire V Tobant). Belaire was our first Champion and also received her CD,C.G.C. and rtd before the age of two. Belaire was named Top Producing Rottweiler female 1998 and her granddaughter Image (Ch. Loral’s Image CD CGC rtd) became Top Producing Rottweiler! Today we are breeding Image’s daughter and very proud of what the girls are producing.

All our dogs and puppies are raised in a home environment. Our puppies get an early start at socialization and training. Also, our full time doggie daycare allows our dogs and puppies the opportunity to socialize. Our sincere love for the Rottweiler drives us to breed not only type but loving family companions. With the guidance of friends and trainers, Lorretta and Allen Pyeatt began their love for training and showing. Today, Loretta and Allen Pyeatt are owners of Canine Academy a dog training center in Bolivia, North Carolina.
